Grand Opening of UH Ahuja Medical Center

University Hospitals Ahuja Medical Center celebrated the grand opening of its Phase 2 expansion on June 9 and 10 with a program and tours for lead project donors on June 9 and events for the community on June 10. The medical center’s footprint has almost doubled in size with the addition of a 222,000 sq. ft., three-story hospital pavilion addition and the construction of the 76,200 sq. ft. UH Drusinsky Sports Medicine Institute.

The new, expanded Emergency Department opened June 5 and additional services will go online on June 27. The $236 million project is expected to bring more than 500 new jobs to the community.

The buildings were designed and developed by HKS Inc. Architects, Gilbane Building Company and Sodexo construction management.
