Support for Neuroendocrine Cancers

Join us on Father's Day, June 16, for the second annual Happy Jack 5K/1 Mile walk at University School. The event supports the Happy Jack Landskroner Innovation Fund for Neuroendocrine Cancers at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. The fund is aimed at propelling advancements in neuroendocrine cancer patient outcomes and supporting the UH Seidman's Neuroendocrine Tumor Program.
Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), also known as neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs), are a rare form of cancer. Because of this, few cancer centers in the U.S. have the depth of expertise required to diagnosis and treat them effectively. UH Seidman has a highly skilled team of neuroendocrine cancer specialists that provide advanced cancer treatment and care for these rare neuroendocrine tumors.
"We're expanding treatment options across various lines of neuroendocrine tumors, ensuring each type, from lung to pancreas to small bowel, has access to innovative clinical trials beyond the standard of care,” said Amr Mohamed, MD, Director of UH Seidman's Neuroendocrine Tumor Program.
Inspired by an Infectious Smile
According to his family, Jack Landskroner inspired many with his infectious happiness and contagious kindness and left an indelible imprint on all those he touched. Throughout his battle with neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer, it was his unwavering strength and generous nature that shone through.
Jack's family has credited Dr. Mohamed's dedication, coupled with the leadership of Ted Teknos, MD, President and Scientific Director, UH Seidman Cancer Center, Jane and Lee Seidman Chair in Cancer Innovation, for elevating care for neuroendocrine tumor patients.
