Minoff Family Makes Visionary Gift to University Hospitals

In recognition of the Minoff family’s significant donation, University Hospitals will rename UH Chagrin Highlands Health Center to UH Minoff Health Center at Chagrin Highlands. UH Minoff Health Center is the system’s busiest and most prominent outpatient facility, with more than 100,000 patient visits every year.

“Sam Minoff, his late wife, Clare, and their children – Amy and Michael Southard, Barry Minoff and Roy Minoff – have been business leaders in Cleveland for decades and, with this gift, are now among our most generous donors,” said Thomas F. Zenty III, UH Chief Executive Officer. “Through the family’s gift, UH will ensure that thousands of people each year continue to receive the highest-quality care in a convenient location.”

Located near the intersection of I-271 and Harvard Road at 3909 Orange Place in Orange Village, UH Minoff Health Center houses a wide array of health care services, including: primary care, radiology, women’s health, travel medicine, heart and cancer care, laboratory services and ENT clinicians. In addition, the Urgent Care Center, complete with a UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s section, serves adults and children when quick diagnoses and treatments are needed.

“Clare and I raised our family in this community and it has given us so much over the years. We wanted to give back and UH provided the right opportunity,” said Sam Minoff, former chairman of Kichler Lighting. “We are so proud to support the work of the doctors and nurses who are dedicated to helping people with their health care needs.”

The Chagrin Highlands site opened in 2000 and was the third outpatient health center for the UH system, complementing UH University Suburban Health Center and UH Landerbrook Health Center. Today, there are more than 50 UH health centers and outpatient facilities throughout Northeast Ohio.

UH Minoff Health Center’s proximity to UH Ahuja Medical Center and other UH physician offices maximizes patient care options by providing general and specialized medical services conveniently located along the I-271 corridor.

The Minoff family previously supported innovation at UH, providing resources for leadership and technologies to ensure expert care for the best patient outcomes.
