A Shared Commitment to Community
David Coury, a Northeast Ohio Subway franchise owner, was recently treated for cancer at University Hospitals. In appreciation for the care he received, David and his family donated an incredible 5,000 Subway sandwiches and boxed lunches to UH caregivers.
"The entire UH staff, from Dr. Megerian down, display such caring, grace and dedication while putting themselves in harms way everyday to take care of patients like me," said David. "A sandwich seems so trivial of a donation for them to enjoy in comparison to their efforts but a good meal is always worth a smile. Kudos to the Faddoul Team at Subway as well for working through the night to prepare 5,000 sandwiches. Thanks to all of you at UH and Subway from me and my family.”
“It’s such a privilege for us to be able to continue care during this time of crisis and the kindness that David showed to all the folks at the hospital is really remarkable," said Ted Teknos, MD, President and Scientific Officer of University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center.
University Hospitals is grateful to all individuals and organizations willing to help our caregivers, patients and community during the COVID-19 crisis.
